What do the AIs actually recommend for your software?
Type any B2B software brand. See which AI assistants recommend it, at what rank, which engines disagree, and where it is invisible. Honest, DOI-backed 2026 measurement, including the cross-engine variance most AI-visibility trackers quietly hide.
The number every other tracker sells you is a single run of a single engine on a single day. In this dataset, no tool is the top pick of all eight AI engines in any of the 16 categories. The disagreement is not noise to hide, it is the answer. This Report Card shows you all of it for any brand.

How this Report Card is built
Each of eight AI engines answered the same buyer questions across 16 B2B and go-to-market software categories. Every recommendation is a recorded model output, canonicalized and scored by position-weighted frequency. The result is the AI Recommendation Audit 2026, published open with a DOI under CC-BY-4.0.
Independent research agrees the underlying instability is real: SparkToro's Rand Fishkin found that across roughly 3,000 runs, two runs of the same prompt returned the same brand list less than one time in a hundred, and Digiday reports marketers now question single-number AI-visibility tools precisely because the results move on every run. This Report Card is built to disclose that variance rather than bury it.
Questions buyers and vendors ask
- How do I know if AI assistants recommend my software?
- Enter your brand above. The Report Card shows, across 16 categories, which of the eight engines name it, at what rank, and where it is absent.
- Why do AI tools recommend different software each time?
- Models generate a fresh list per run, per phrasing, and per engine. Because no tool wins all eight engines in any category here, a single confident leaderboard is one engine's view on one date.
- Which sources do the AIs cite when they recommend tools?
- Mostly third-party review sites, tech media, and communities rather than vendor pages. See the companion AI Citation Source Map for the exact target list.
- Is a tool I use still active, or has it been sunset?
- Check the AI Tool Status Checker for verified dead, renamed, acquired, and still-alive statuses.
- How is this different from a paid AI-visibility tracker?
- Paid trackers report a single-run number and cannot sell you a better one without undermining it. This is open, dated, DOI-backed, and unpurchasable; the rankings are not for sale.
