When a buyer asks ChatGPT or Google's AI "what's the best tool for this," only a handful of names make the answer. IBM Watson Assistant earned an AI-Visibility Score of 2.5/100, ranking #99 of 354 measured tools. That is below the three-or-so names most buyers hear when they ask AI for a recommendation, so there is visibility upside to capture.
It was never the top answer in any category we measured, so it appears in the list a buyer is shown but not at the front of it. 3 of 8 engines named it, so it is visible on some assistants and absent from others. It competes in one category only, AI chatbots, where it places #8 of 8. A tool named in a single category has a narrower surface than its score alone suggests.
AI visibility is winnable and separate from Google rankings: the engines we tested disagreed on the #1 tool in most categories, so a product can be invisible to one assistant and a top pick on another.
